Greater Lafayette Commerce organizes the Robotics in Manufacturing Summer Camp each year to help stimulate STEM learning for students in grades K-12.   

MANUFACTURING WEEK 2019 

SEPTEMBER 30 - OCTOBER 4

The week is broken down into 3 age groups serving K-12 students within our 9 regional counties.

 

Manufacturing Tours  for High School Students
Career Preparation

The perfect opportunity for students to learn about career opportunities and technologies used in manufacturing facilities today.  Students will be exposed to:
 

  1. Manufacturing in action.

  2. The type of training needed to be successful in a manufacturing career.

  3. All the possible career opportunities and  career pathways.

 

High School students will visit manufacturers across the Greater Lafayette region.  Industry tours are available Monday – Friday.  

 

 

 

Manufacturing Expo for Middle School Students

Career Exploration

 

The perfect opportunity for students to learn about career opportunities and technologies used in manufacturing facilities today.

 

  • Design It:  Engineers, Research and Development, Marketing

  • Produce It:  Technician, Operator, Managers, Machining, Inspectors

  • Move It:  Warehouse, Distribution, Material Handling, Drivers, Supply Chain

  • Support It:  Human Resources, Nursing, IT, Cybersecurity, Legal, Environmental Health and Safety

 

Manufacturing Workshops for Elementary School Students

Manufacturing Awareness


The perfect way to discover and learn what happens in a manufacturing facility.  Students will learn the concepts of:

 

  • Quality:  Making good products

  • Lean:  Working smarter

  • Teamwork:  Working together to make a product

  • Context:  Where do students see manufacturing in their lives.

Are you an educator interested in registering your students for Manufacturing Week?   Bus and substitute teacher fees are reimbursable.
